Our Story

House of Rebirth was founded in 2019 during a time when many individuals and families across Dallas were facing barriers to safety, stability, housing, and access to support.
Following the public attack and murder of Muhlaysia Booker, our community was left grieving, searching for answers, and seeking spaces where people could feel seen, valued, and protected. It became clear that more than visibility was needed. People needed access to resources, trusted support systems, and leaders with lived experience who understood the realities of navigating trauma, survival, and systemic barriers.
That reality led to the creation of House of Rebirth.
In October 2019, House of Rebirth launched its first transitional housing program with a mission centered on safety, dignity, healing, and long-term stability. What began as an emergency response quickly evolved into a trusted community resource rooted in advocacy, empowerment, and culturally responsive care.
Today, House of Rebirth serves as a community-led resource hub providing housing navigation, advocacy, resource connection, emergency support services, leadership development, and community programming designed to improve quality of life and increase access to opportunity.
While our roots are deeply connected to supporting historically underserved communities, our work has grown to serve individuals and families seeking pathways to safety, stability, and self-determination. Through strategic partnerships, direct support, and community-driven solutions, we remain committed to helping people overcome barriers and build brighter futures.
Everything we do is built by community, for community. 💜
